Usage
When considering taking hydrochlorothiazide, it is helpful to know what hydrochlorothiazide is used for. Hydrochlorothiazide tablets are used as an adjunctive treatment for edema (i.e. swelling) associated with conditions such as congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, and estrogen and corticosteroid therapy. Depending on the reason hydrochlorothiazide is being used, the typical starting dosage is 25 mg daily in adults. Hydrochlorothiazide is sometimes combined with valsartan as they are thought to have an additive effect.

Cost Information
Nifedipine is a commonly used medication. At most pharmacies, nifedipine costs under forty cents per pill, making it relatively affordable. Insurance plans may also cover any out-of-pocket costs of nifedipine. To further reduce the cost, Procardia (nifedipine) coupons may be available online from time to time. Nifedipine itself is found as a yellow crystalline substance that does not dissolve well in water. Dosage
Procardia capsules contain nifedipine 10 mg as well as other inactive ingredients and the starting Procardia dose used by many practitioners is Procardia 10 mg. Procardia capsules are soft gelatin capsules that should be stored at 59° C to 77° C. Procardia (nifedipine) is absorbed quickly after oral administration, being detectable in the serum in just ten minutes. Peak levels occur at 30 minutes and the half life of nifedipine is approximately two hours, largely independent of dose. Once ingested, nifedipine is most bound to proteins in the serum. Metabolism and elimination of nifedipine utilizes both the liver and the kidney.
