Saxenda, like other medications, can cause side effects when used. Side effects from Saxenda use include nausea, hypoglycemia, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, headache, decreased appetite, dyspepsia, fatigue, dizziness, stomach pain, and increased lipase. People who have a known hypersensitivity or allergy to Saxenda, liraglutide, Victoza or similar medications should not use Saxenda. Saxenda can cause thyroid tumors, including cancer, and should not be used by people who have, or have a family member with, MTC or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Saxenda and alcohol should not be used together. Potential side effects related to Saxenda use should be discussed with one’s pharmacist and medical provider.
